Yes, I can sew!! It was one of the things my mother taught me and I do sew all of my badges and insignia on my own uniforms!

The topical index has been updated and is now available either as a column on the left side of the topics page, or as a separate page, complete with a "last updated" line at the top.

If there are topics you are interested in, but do not see as part of the topic listing, please let me know. It's possible I've got it somewhere around here, and haven't uploaded it yet to the server!

Your Binder from Leaders' Online!

Get Ready for the New Publications with....

My Binder!

My Binder!

The third most frequently asked question of me (the other two deal with how I know so much about Scouting to be so young and how to pronounce "settamankie" *giggle*) is about that "four-pound binder" of mine.

They have heard of it and want to know more about putting together their own binder, full of the things that would make them knowledgeable the next time they show up at their unit or District/Council meeting. (Haven't heard of it? This explains it!)

At the same time, the BSA has been successfully experimenting with placing volunteer and professional publications into a larger 8x11 inch format, complete with prepunched holes to be placed (and updated) from a binder. They even developed two binders - one in Scouting Red, the other in Cub Scouting Blue - to use with those publications.

Well, now, I've found and have been using such a functional binder. While its not equal in size to my "four-pounder" (which I still use, by the way!), it is the most functional binder that I've seen for Scouters!

And Rose Walton is selling it exclusively to you!

So, now we come down to the chase. How much are we asking for it? Consider this:

  • YOUR BINDER is NOT available in retail stores. We know, we've looked. The CLOSEST thing is a cloth or plastic binder with cover that sells for a little less than we're asking...and has less room. And no "outside covers" for your own unit's, District/Council, or individual logo!
  • It comes complete with dividers, mechanical pencil and pen/highligher, preprinted paper, holders for diskettes and business cards....ready from the box to you.
  • It's been "field tested" here in Minnesota. I've taken it and used it in the cold, in the sun. It works, and it works well.
  • It's this nice coffee cream color, which goes well with our uniforms. We can get you one in grey or gold, though, if you've GOT to have one to match your shoulder loops! *grinning*

Gimme My Binder!

We're pre-ordering the binders for a March 15th release date. That date is the official "release date" of many of the BSA's new publications; the new Scoutmaster's Handbook has already been released and the Venturing Leader Handbook is due for release soon. New versions of the Insignia Guide, the Advancement Procedures booklet and about 15 other existing BSA publications are also being released in the "binder-sized" format during the spring of 1999!

(PS: The first 100 orders get some special items *in their binders*!! Can't tell you what it is, but I can tell you that it's a $42.00 value!)
